Business Type : record label
The system setup in
Dynamics GP
enabled the owner
of the Record Label to access the profitability of each album
release, taking the following
into consideration: Sales by region (country) by
distributor
Licensing income by region
(country) by distributor
Cost of Sales by
region (country) by distributor
Promotional costs by regions (country) by
distributor
Pre production

region (country) by distributor Artist and
publishing royalties paid
The system would also produce reports
on the profitability of each artist (including all albums
distributed by the record label), each distributor and each
region. It also monitored all stock movements between
warehouses.
The
system also catered for "profit share" agreements.
Business Type: Music industry distribution
company
The system setup in
Dynamics GP
supplied the distributor with information such
as: Sales by
distributor
Accrued cost of sales bu
label Net contribution
to gross margin by distributor
The system was able to generate Self
Billing Invoices to all labels, this was done as an integrated
system with Dynamics GP..
Information from distributors was
imported into Dynamics GP via Integration Manager.
Business Type: Construction
industry
The system allowed for
monitoring of costs per unit (house) built by building phases
such as site clearance, excavations, foundations, walls,
glazing, plumbing, roofing, finishes etc. The actual
expenses incurred where compared to the phase budgets and
variances reported on. It also monitored the amounts
paid to the same contractor/subcontractor doing the work
covering multiple units, comparing quoted pieces to actual
costs billed to the project.
business type: Commercial
Printers
On the accounting side KMS
developed a costing system which computed the recover and
charge out rates for each printing machine on the factory
floor. These charges along with prices of raw materials
were used in creating estimates for all jobs quoted on. We also designed and
programmed a computerized job costing system which interfaced
into a standard accounting package (Omicron Power
System). The system was created in the database
environment and covered the following:
Printed out job cards per
job
Maintained costs per job with reference to
Originiation costs, die making costs, material costs
(paper, card, ink etc) and machine costs (time on machine at
recovery rates. When the
accounting system created an invoice for the job, the details
were downloaded into the costing system so that the job could
be closed and the profitability of the job
computed.
The system allowed for partial deliveries and
part invoicing with a claw back of costs for the non delivered
portion of the contract on either a percentage of costs
or actual costs by origination costs, die making costs,
materials used and machine
time/costs.
